Pacific Oaks Boys Club

Pacific Oaks Boys Club is a monthly after-school program designed to give boys a place to learn, grow, build great friendships, and have fun!

Each Boys Club afternoon combines study, virtue talk, activities, and challenges. Boys will have time to complete their work with teachers available to assist when needed, participate in different challenges and activities, and hear a short talk focused on a human virtue or an inspiring profession.

A Time to Study

The afternoon begins with dedicated homework and study time.

Boys will have a quiet, structured environment in which to complete their schoolwork, with teachers available to answer questions and provide assistance where needed.

We want the boys to develop good habits of work, responsibility, perseverance, and independence. Learning not simply to complete their work, but to love what they are learning.

Virtues

At every Boys Club the boys receive a talk on a practical aspect of a virtue which assists them in character formation.

Topics may include:

• Charity
• Honesty
• Patience
• Self-discipline
• Gratitude

The goal is not simply to talk about the virtue, but to help turn ideas into concrete actions.

Activities

Boys Club is a time to try something new, develop practical skills, and discover what they are capable of.

Each month, boys will take on a new challenge or hands-on activity that may involve building, creating, exploring, problem-solving, competing, and working together.

These activities will give boys the opportunity to practice courage, perseverance, responsibility, leadership, and teamwork.

Boys will also have the opportunity to hear from men working in a variety of professions.
