Pacific Oaks Girls Club

Pacific Oaks Girls Club is a monthly after-school program designed to give girls a place to learn, grow, build great friendships, and spend time together having fun!

Each Girls Club afternoon combines study, virtue talk, activities, and challenges. Girls will have time to complete their homework with teachers available to assist when needed, participate in different challenges and activities, and hear a short talk focused on a human virtue or an inspiring profession.

A Time to Study

The afternoon begins with dedicated homework and study time.

Girls will have a quiet, structured environment in which to complete their schoolwork, with teachers available to answer questions and provide assistance where needed.

We want girls to develop good habits of work, responsibility, perseverance, and independence. Learning not simply to complete their work, but to love what they are learning.

Virtues

At every Girls Club the girls receive a talk on a practical aspect of a virtue which assists them in character formation.

• Courage
• Friendship
• Charity
• Honesty
• Patience
• Self-discipline
• Gratitude

The goal is not simply to talk about the virtue, but to help girls turn ideas into concrete actions.

Activities

Girls Club is a time to try something new, learn practical skills, and discover what they are capable of.

Each month, girls will take on a new challenge and fun activity that may involve: building, creating, exploring, solving, and working together.

These activities will allow the girls to put into practice the virtue of courage, perseverance, creativity, and teamwork.

The girls will also have the opportunity to hear from women working in a variety of professions and vocations.
